Sometimes, cooking is entertainment.
Sometimes, however, after a long day at work, I just want to make something quickly without any of that chopping nonsense and shove it down my neck so I can get back to gently dribbling in front of the TV.
The following recipe is something to serve with some veggie sausages as a sop to healthy eating. So what if it's all salty and fried, it's got a metric truckload of calcium and all sorts of other goodness, and that's what counts, right? Right?
Makes one large portion.
Soy and ginger kale
Ingredients
Sesame oil
About 60g of kale
One teaspoon of ginger powder
One scant teaspoon of garlic granules
One teaspoon of rice wine vinegar
One tablespoon of soy sauce
How you do it
Heat some sesame oil until hot.
Add the kale and stir fry until it begins to wilt and lose some of its water - a couple of minutes or so.
Add the ginger and garlic, stir and continue cooking for another five minutes or so.
Add the vinegar and soy sauce. Stir again and cook for another half minute, then serve.
